On Monday Clif Bar announced a “Meet the Moment” program that rewards bike riders and other outdoor enthusiasts to sharing photos and stories by giving money to charities to protect outdoor recreation spaces.

Every time someone posts a photo and caption on www.MeettheMoment.com, Clif Bar will donate $5 to poster’s choice of the International Mountain Bicycling Association, Access Fund, Leave No Trace, Surfrider Foundation or Winter Wildlands Alliance.

Clif Bar will donate $1 for every share on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or Pinterest to the designated nonprofit. Even the simple click of a Facebook “Likes” will generate a $1 donation.

Clif Bar pledged to donate up to $100,000 total.

The outdoor enthusiast with the best ‘moment’ – as determined by a jury of social media peers via the sharing and ‘like’ functions — will have $10,000 donated in their name to their charity of choice of the five. The winner will also get a year’s supply of Clif Bars.
