Ed Clancy aboard the UK Sport Innovation frame. The carbon base bar features torpedo bullhorns and a chunky aero stem above the straight-bladed fork. Clancy is riding a Fizik Arione Tri 2 saddle with the SRM head unit mounted beneath it - Joby Sessions / Immediate Media
Unlike Clancy, Kian Emadi has a Wing TT aero seatpost with a curious cut-out at the bottom. The saddle looks to be a Prologo Scratch Pro Plus. Emadi’s bullhorns also curve upwards for better grip when sprinting - Joby Sessions / Immediate Media
Steven Burke has another basebar with totally straight bullhorns. This angle also shows off the gorgeous naked carbon weave of the UK Sport frame. The SRM cranks complete with an aero, gapless chanring are clearly visible. Like others Burke is using the UK Sport aero helmet developed for London 2012 - Joby Sessions / Immediate Media
Burke clearly isn’t worried about weight with a 300g-plus Selle San Marco Rolls saddle. His SRM, mounted underneath, is reading 443 watts - Joby Sessions / Immediate Media
Emadi’s sprint bike mirrors his pursuit setup except for the artful and aero drop bars, which spiral gracefully from the flat tops into the rounded grips. Here you can also see that Emadi’s crankset has a more traditional spider with gaps rather than the SRM unit. It’s also a great shot of the double Mavic Comete Track disc wheels – yours for just £1,850 apiece - Joby Sessions / Immediate Media
The women’s tandem bike for the para 1km time trial is a custom build from American company Co-motion. Unlike their regular range, there’s an additional diagonal support tube to help it stand up to the rigours of Sophie Thornhill and Helen Scott’s powerful legs - Joby Sessions / Immediate Media
