Sunn caused a stir when they returned to the racing scene a couple of years back with an updated version of their classic Radical downhill bike, but very few bikes ever made it to UK shores.

They've now hooked up with distributors Jim Walker and if the machines on display at Core are anything to go by, they look set to have a big impact in 2010.

Radical Finest frameset

We first saw the 2010 Sunn Radical at last year's Eurobike trade show, and it looks amazing in the flesh. It's available in a choice of two complete builds: the Finest at £5,399.99 (RockShox Boxxer WC and Vivid 5.1, Formula The One brakes, Mavic Deemax wheels and SRAM X0, 16kg/35.3lb) and the S1 at £2,999.99 (Boxxer Race and Vivid 4.1, Formula RX brakes, Alex rims and SRAM X5, 17.2kg/37.9lb).

However, a lot of downhillers prefer to pick their own parts so it's also available as a frameset, in which case it'll set you back £2,999 with a BOS Idylle fork and BOS Stoy shock or £1,899 with a RockShox Vivid 5.1 and no fork. The frame comes with a bolt-on plastic guard to protect the shock from mud. Weight is around 4.5kg/9.9lb.

Prim Finest

We showed you Sunn's Prim titanium hardtail at Eurobike too but it looks so amazing it's a shame not to feature it again! The show model has a slightly different spec to production bikes, including the latest white kit from 3T (much of their road gear will also be available in this new colourway).

It's available as a frameset for £1,599 or a complete bike for £4,999.99, with a RockShox SID WC Carbon fork, Formula R1 brakes, Mavic Crossmax SLR wheels and SRAM X0/X9. Claimed weight is 9kg/19.8lb.

Modular

If you can't stretch to a top-end Finest model, Sunn's Modular trail hardtail boasts a double-butted 4130 chromoly frame, 120mm-travel RockShox Recon XC Air fork, Formula RX brakes and SRAM shifting kit for £1,299 (the spec on the show bike is slightly different). Claimed weight is 11.7kg/25.8lb.
