A little more than a year ago French multisport retailer Decathlon quietly launched an online presence in Australia. But news is that later this year it will be opening its first brick and mortar shop in the Sydney suburb of Tempe.
A spokesperson from Decathlon tells BikeRadar that there are plans to open retail locations all over Australia, and it is already fulfilling online orders from a warehouse in Sydney.
The French retailer already has stores in 30 countries and this comes only a few months after we discovered Decathlon would be expanding into the US.
While Decathlon stores offer gear for nearly 70 sports, they’ll also be bringing B'Twin bicycles to Australia.
B'Twin covers a complete range of bikes, everything from full carbon road and mountain bikes, to balance bikes for the kidlets and hybrid bikes that come with a lifetime warranty.
Decathlon calls B'Twin a “Passion Brand,” and while the Australian market may not be readily aware of it just yet, the bikes demonstrate fantastic value for money.
Decathlon Down Under will also be offering a full range of B'Twin branded helmets, clothing, shoes, parts and accessories.
The flagship Sydney store isn’t quite ready yet, but it’s slated to open its doors in October 2017.
