British Columbia shoe brand Drift, formerly known as DZR, has updated its original Minna shoe, aiming it at use on dry trails and pump tracks, and for urban riding.
The new shoe features a suede, ripstop and full-grain leather waterproof lined upper, skate-shoe style gum rubber sole, and a recessed composite SPD cleat plate.
Drift says all its shoes are hand-built in small batches, using full-grain leather for the uppers, a waterproof lining and a composite shank/SPD plate to increase stiffness.
The Minna's upper features a reinforced toe cap to protect your feet, along with a shock-absorbing footbed. The laces are protected by a large leather wrapover button-down protector designed to prevent them getting caught in your drivetrain.

Drift says the reimagined Minna was athlete-developed in British Columbia and designed to be light enough to use on warm, dry days. However, if you get caught out in a rain shower on the trails or wet urban conditions, they’ll keep your feet dry and comfortable.
It follows on from Drift’s debut shoe, the Arc, a low-top sneaker-style bike shoe built specifically for wet conditions and priced at £180 / $240.
The outsole is noticeably stiffer than other crossover urban-SPD shoes such as CHPT3’s Transit, backing up claims that Drift’s Minna is more performance-oriented than urban.
Drift’s co-founder and CEO, Shane Rattazzi, says: “The Minna respects our heritage in the SPD-compatible sneaker category with modern textile and suede blends to offer a more relaxed, versatile fit for everyday progression on and off the mountain.”
The Minna weighs in at 540g per shoe in a USA size 11 / EU45 / UK10.
It's available in White, Navy or Army Green with white/gum rubber soles, and Black with a classic all-gum rubber bottom. They’re priced at £142 / $189.
