Urban cool and functional, too

Cannondale has partnered with G-Star, a hip Amsterdam-based denim brand, to design and develop a limited run of 500 military looking Bad Boy Raws, urban commuters built with Shimano's 8-speed internal hub, Brooks leather saddle and grips, plus ultra-retro Vredestein Moiree brown tyres.

All components get a custom paint job. The Alfine internal hub gear, rims, spokes, brakes and cranks all get the same utilitarian colour.

The Raw is also high on practicality with Curana mudguards that feature a non-stick surface to ward off dirt. Cables and disc hoses are all internally routed to create a clean look, and a service-free ride. Cannondale's Headshock suspension fork can locked out and the stem's face plate features an integrated high-output LED light.

Rounding off the look is a Brooks B-17 leather saddle and grips. Considering the level of componentry, the cost is a rather reasonable £1,500. What price fashion, eh? Only available in Europe, folks. There's been some talk about a possible US version in 2010, based on the demand already mounting for the 2009 version.
