A start-up design studio has launched a limited edition fictional contour map inspired by a cult era of mountain biking.

The clever cartographers at Herfie – they do other design work besides – collected more than 700 MTB references from the late 80 and early 90s, including famous bikes, legendry trails and cult cafes and plotted them over the 60x80cm contour map. Some of the terms include the WTB Phoenix, and Blankets Creek Bicycle Trail

The studio worked with We Are Dorothy, the company that produced similar book and film maps. The bike map sounds like a piece of artwork that'll absorb old school trail riders for hours.

There's are signed and stamped limited edition prints for £100 and open edition versions at £25, excluding postage. Both versions are four colour litho prints on quality 120gsm uncoated art paper.

The perfect Christmas present for a mountain biker? Possibly.
