Fox are set to release a new mountain bike-specific helmet, the Striker, plus a range of winter riding gear including a soft shell jacket, lightweight waterproof and base layer.
The company’s current helmet, the Flux, recently won What Mountain Bike magazine's helmet grouptest, where they concluded that no other helmet “can match the Flux’s combination of price, practicality, overall fit and comfort,” so we’re expecting great things of the Striker.
Available in February/March 2011, the Striker will cost you around £90, has 22 vents (two more than the Flux), removable visor and uses the Detox II retention system. Wayne Dobson from Fox Europe told us: “The Striker is like an evolution of the Flux, with sleeker lines and a lighter weight but still giving great coverage and protection for the rider.”
On the clothing side of things, Fox have some new jackets, jerseys, base layers and legwear on the way too. Read on for the highlights.

For the cold and wind, the £80 Breakaway soft shell jacket has a Polar fleece lining, hood that can be worn under a helmet, two zippered fleece lined hand pockets and two chest pockets.

The £60 Dawn Patrol jacket is the one to keep you dry with fully sealed seams, cape back for ventilation, waterproof front zipper and rear pocket with reflective tape.

Fox’s £45 Regulator jersey has a full-length zip and is made from brushed quick dry polyester. Perforated panelling under the arms and a fold over at the collar at the top are designed to prevent irritation. Two zippered rear pockets are handy to stash essentials.
We'll have reviews on the new Fox clothing and Striker helmet as soon as possible on BikeRadar.
