The winning team in this year's RIDE24 cycle relay at the Top Gear test track in Surrey will be rewarded with a free place at the 24 Heures Velo race in Le Mans, France.

It's a fitting prize because RIDE24, a 24-hour endurance race in aid of Action Medical Research, was inspired by the classic 24 Hours of Le Mans motor race.

Event manager Sarah Stevenson said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for riders taking part in our event. The winning team are now set to not only win the coveted RIDE24 winners’ trophy but a place in this stunning event in France and possibly a punt at that winners’ title too!”

Now in its second year, RIDE24 takes place at Dunsfold Park on the weekend of 19-20 June. The winners are the team who complete the most laps in 24 hours. A few places are still available for teams of four. For more details and to register, visit www.action.org.uk/ride24.

The 24 Heures Velo takes place at the Circuit Bugatti on 21-22 August. The free team place for the winners of RIDE24 has been donated by organisers Romain Gasnal and the Claude Gasnal Organisation. For more details about the race, visit www.24heuresvelo.fr.
