Giant Bicycle won a 2007 California Design Biennial award from the Pasadena Museum of California Art for its Suede Coasting DX lifestyle bicycle. The CDB award specifically honors the California-based global product development team at Giant USA, based n Newbury Park.

"This award is testament to the innovation in product design generated from our product development team," said Elysa Walk, general manager of Giant Bicycle. "Our product developers bring a unique California touch to our cycling products, inspiring designs that are introduced globally by the company."

The Suede DX Coasting bicycle was introduced this spring as an addition to Giant's line of ergonomically-friendly Suede lifestyle bicycles. The bicycle is styled around Shimano's automatic shifting 3-speed Coasting drive train. The $750US Suede DX Coasting bicycle is available at authorized Giant Bicycle retailers.

Works were selected by a jury of design professionals from: Vogue magazine, CalArts, New Deal Design, LLC and Art Center College of Design.

The Giant Suede Coasting DX is included in a special showing of the CDB winning designs at the Pasadena Museum of California Art, located at 490 East Union Street, in Pasadena CA. The exhibit runs August 18 - September 30, 2007.
