Since Shimano announced its 12-speed XTR groupset, we’ve been dying to get our mucky paws all over it.

In this video, technical editor Tom Marvin gets up close and personal with it. That means unboxing, weighing, and fondling to his heart’s content.

The new offering promises three different drivetrain options: 1x12, 1x11 and 2x12, with 10–51t and 10–45t cassettes, and two new brake systems for both cross-country and enduro riding.

The Shimano XTR 12-speed groupset is becoming available as we speak.
