French mountain biker Jean-Christophe Péraud has signed a two year deal with the Omega Pharma-Lotto professional road team.
The 32 year-old won silver in the mountain bike cross country race at the 2008 Olympics but he's also an accomplished road rider. He is the reigning French time trial champion and finished 12th at the world time trial championships this year.
In 2010, Péraud will race mainly on the road, his team said.
Péraud's arrival will help plug the hole left by another ex-mountain-biker-turned-roadie Cadel Evans, who recently switched to the BMC racing team.
