In recent weeks our forums have been abuzz with people arguing the relative merits of the latest generation of mountain bike front mudguards, like the Crud Fast Fender and RRP NeoGuard. Well now there's a new contender: the Mucky Nutz Bender Fender.
Out of the pack this mudguard is shaped much like a pair of Y-fronts, but unlike your underwear this is designed to get crappy.
It attaches to your fork's brace with the supplied Velcro straps, and is designed to catch the mud flicked up by your front wheel.
Its design allows close fitting, which should ensure great mud catching potential. It looks good too, in a subtle, understated kind of way. Due to the simplicity of its design the Bender is also seriously lightweight; in fact we’re certain it’s the lightest guard available. It's available now from Mucky Nutz for a very reasonable £7.
Our database editor Oli has already started putting the fender through its paces and, with the recent rainfall here in Bath, is looking forward to some mud plugging this weekend! Look out for a full review soon.
