With all the hype surrounding the launch of Troy Lee's new D3 helmet, it's easy to forget its iconic predecessor, the D2.
But with the cost of the D3 rumoured to be around the £500 mark in the UK (RRP in the US is a substantially cheaper $450), there's life in the old dog yet.
The D2 comes in at a slightly easier-on-the-wallet £249.99-£399.99 (depending on which graphics you choose and whether you go for a carbon or composite shell) and is slightly lighter than the D3, although it doesn't offer quite as much protection or venting.
Features include seven intake vents and four outake ports, a washable pad liner, D-loop fastening and titanium peak screws. It exceeds CSPC, ASTM and CE safety standards. An SE helmet bag is included with the carbon models.
If the eye-catching Love/Hate design we've been sent by UK distributors Fisher Outdoor Leisure doesn't appeal, there are plenty of other models to take your fancy.
Many of the designs are offered in a choice of different colours, and if you prefer the stealth look or prefer to sticker up/paint your lid the Midnight could be right up your street. Here are some of the 2010 options:

Riding wear

Sticking with the lairy theme, the new History Multi design on TLD's XC cross-country jersey is certain to turn heads out on the trail, with all manner of monsters and other cartoon characters fighting for space on the front and rear. RRP is £57.99.
The Skyline jersey has a more relaxed cut and a black and white pattern that's hard to miss. RRP is £52.99.
