Lake's new top of the range MX331CX shoe is aimed at the serious cross country racer. It's been in development with the Torq MTB race team and pro cyclocross racers such as Jeremy Powers for almost a year.
Lake have settled on a lower profile carbon sole, super aggressive open tread with toe-mounted claws, kangaroo and full grain leather uppers, with a carbon heel cup and BOA lace closure. The shoe is fully custom mouldable, including the separate heel cup, and has all the ingredients to make an excellent cyclocross shoe too.
For the first year the MX331CX will only be available in this orange and black colour, as a nod to the Torq team, and in sizes 36-48, with half sizes from 42 upwards. After that it'll come in black and other colours, with size 42 and above also being offered in a wide fitting.
The shoe is available to order now for supply at the start of September and will cost £269/$370.
