Le Coq Sportif has release a special edition jersey to celebrate the start of the 2014 Tour de France in Yorkshire.

The limited edition jersey commemorates the first time that the Tour de France has visited the North of England and will be exclusively available on the start line in Leeds and the Le Tour Yorkshire online shop.

Priced at £65, the jersey’s vibrant blue colour represents the Yorkshire flag and has been designed with the same care as Le Coq Sportif’s official Tour de France yellow jersey that will be worn by the general classification leader. Although it is not as aerodynamically cut as the official yellow jersey, it can be used for recreational riding and will certainly catch people's eyes.

It is made from 100 percent polyester with a full-length zip, three rear pockets and the same faux-collar detail as Le Coq Sportif’s range of Performance cycling jerseys.

Ben Grant from Le Coq Sportif said: “Having the Tour de France Grand Départ come to the UK once again highlights the growing number of elite cyclists coming from the UK, which is something that we really want to celebrate… so it felt right to create an exclusive jersey to celebrate the start of what will be a fantastic race.”

Whether or not you want to stand out from the crowd, this limited edition jersey would certainly be a special souvenir to remember the Tour de France Grand Départ that took place in Yorkshire by.

Two stages of the Tour de France will be held in the scenic county of Yorkshire from 5 to 6 July. Stage 1 will take place over 190km from Leeds to Harrogate and stage 2 will cover 201km from York to Sheffield.
