Launched by Sports Tours International, the first ever edition of Le Manc 24 Hours will see 16 teams take to the boards of the National Cycling Centre’s velodrome in Manchester next month.
A mixture of corporate, cycling club and charity teams – men and women, each with six riders – will take part in the inaugural event. The Le Manc 24 Hours 2014 title will go to whichever team covers the greatest distance over the 24 hours between noon on Saturday 8 November and noon on Sunday 9 November.
There will also be awards going to the individual with the fastest lap, the most laps by an individual and any team covering more than 1,000km. Supporters can attend for free and there are also hospitality packages available for Saturday evening and Sunday lunchtime.
Le Manc 24 Ambassador, Dame Sarah Storey DBE, said: “Don't miss out on this unique challenge to spend 24 hours clocking up as much distance as possible alongside your team. The Manchester Velodrome is an iconic venue and this event will provide the participants with another chance to create history inside a building that has already seen so many records established and broken."
Each team entry includes use of a track bike, helmet and track shoes, along with mechanical support and chip timing for the all-important distance and speed data.
