Italy’s Livigno Bikepark has celebrated the end of the 2009 mountain biking season with its annual freeride competition and the promise of even better trails for next year.

The freeride comp made the most of the amazing riding on offer in the Italian Alps, with a downhill race, dirt jump contest and big air shootout on a giant airbag.

The airbag event proved the most popular, with hundreds of onlookers watching endless backflips, superman seat-grabs, 360 combos and much more on the big air cushion (much like the airbag.net we rode earlier this year).

Kona Clump team rider John Cowan visited Livigno before the sun gave way to the snow to give some advice on improving the bike park trails for the 2010 season, which opens on June 12.

We visited the amazing Livigno trails earlier this year and were blown away, and with these improvements it should be even better.
