When the Roam becomes available this autumn, riders will be able to choose between the standard option and a version equipped with the MIPS system, which is designed to mitigate rotational forces during an impact.

The claimed weight for the non-MIPS Roam is 335g. According to MET, the MIPS system adds 25g to the helmet.

Additional safety features of the Roam include a flexible, injection-molded visor that's designed to bend safely without springing back too quickly in a crash, and extended coverage around the base of the head.

MET’s latest helmet has 22 vents with three air channels molded into the EPS foam liner to promote airflow through the helmet. The three-position visor has guides for goggle straps with additional clips at the rear of the helmet.

Pricing for the Roam is set at £130 / $170 / AU$ TBC for the standard helmet and £150 / $200 / AU$TBC for the MIPS model.
