Mr Wolf is a small start-up that introduced the Banger anti-flat tire insert earlier this year. The Italian company’s latest project is a handguard designed to protect your fingers, as well as your shift and brake levers, from impacts.

The Recchie handguards are constructed from polypropylene plastic with aluminum arms that position them in front of the grips. They mount outboard of the brake levers and have a total length of 305mm per side, which is long enough to shield the rider’s hands as well as the rest of the controls.

While they might look ridiculous, some professional enduro racers including high-profile athletes such as Sam Hill and Nicolas Vouilloz have used similar products developed by AVS Racing to protect their hands.

The claimed weight for the moto-inspired Recchie handguards is 148g for the pair. Pricing is set at 49/$58/£45 /AU$75.

Mr Wolf is currently attempting to fund the development of these digit defenders on Kickstarter and expects to deliver them in October.

What do you think? Are handguards a worthy accessory for aggressive trail riding?
