Fizik has tweaked its popular Aliante saddle with some new materials to bring down weight. For 2015, the Aliante comes in three models — the R1, R3 and R5 — and ranges in weight from 185g for the carbon-railed R1 up to 245g for the alloy-railed R5.

Retaining the flared-tail shape of the Aliante that Fizik bills for less flexible riders, Fizik has shaved about 30g off last year’s model.

Fizik uses three different bases for the three models. The R1 gets a carbon/nylon base, the R3 uses fiberglass/nylon and the R5 gets nylon/carbon.

There are two rail choices: carbon or alloy, which Fizik calls k:ium.

All the saddles have a Microtex cover with Scuff Guards on the back edges.
