OneUp Components has introduced a 27.2mm version of its V2 Dropper Post, designed for gravel bikes and cross-country mountain bikes.

The new dropper is a skinnier version of OneUp’s existing V2 Dropper Post; one of the best dropper posts out there, having received a five-star rating in our review.

Most gravel bikes, and many cross-country mountain bikes, use a 27.2mm seatpost, so its little surprise to see OneUp add a version to its range, given the rise in popularity of gravel dropper posts. The 27.2mm OneUp post is available in a 90mm or 120mm length.

Expanding its dropper post range, OneUp claims the shortest stack height and shortest total length of any post with the same travel and boasts “no other dropper post can get your saddle lower”.

The brand claims a 377g weight for the 90mm-travel variant, weighing less than most 40mm droppers, according to OneUp. The 120mm-travel variant is claimed to weigh 435g.

OneUp says the post is compatible with cable dropper levers, as well as SRAM and Shimano drop-bar shifters (Campagnolo Ekar omits a lever blade on the left-hand lever). The routing for the dropper post is internal.

The brand says “reliable sealed cartridge internals” are used and the cartridge can be replaced, if needed, for $69.50.

There’s a new 31.8mm drop-handlebar clamp, too, and the clamp can be paired with the brand’s V3 remote.

OneUp also continues to offer 30.9, 31.6 and 34.9 diameters in its existing dropper posts, with travel options from 70mm to 240mm in 10mm increments.
