The Orbital Cycling Festival is coming around again in 2014, and will feature the Brompton World Championships and a road race with a £5,000 prize pot.
After a successful first outing at the Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex last year, the weekend of family-friendly cycling fun will return on 26-27 July 2014.
The show will include time trial relay race, a 20km individual TT, various road races and track style events such as keirins and sprint events.
Away from the tarmac, there is a new enduro event and off-road sportive to look forward to, along with a randonée which will all make use of the picturesque South Downs. Stunt riders Blake Samson and BMXer Matti Hemmings will wow the crowds with regular performances over the weekend and there will be series of family-friendly bike rides, a cycle jumble and food and drink stalls.
But the highlight could be the Brompton championships which include a marathon event on the Saturday and the main event, a 9.5mi (15km) championship on the Sunday.
With camping facilities right next to the main entrance show organisers hope thousands will stay for the overnight party which will be fuelled by DJs and live music.
Last year 6,000 enjoyed the summer cycling festival and this year organisers say they are expecting up to 10,000 people.
