Pearl Izumi has added two half-sizes to four of its jerseys – the PRO Leader, PRO In-R-Cool, PRO LTD and Elite LTD Climbers. Each of the garments now comes in seven sizes, with the new S/M and M/L options slotting between the traditional options. Here, we take a look at the US$100/£60 Elite LTD Climbers jersey, a lightweight mesh summer piece.
The M/L jersey fit pretty well on a 6ft (1.83m) rider with a 40in (101cm) chest. The sleeves aren't quite as long as the current trend dictates, and they're not cut with an aggressive, forward-leaning bias, but they don't bind much when extended forward. The length, however, is quite generous on the hidden-full-zip jersey.
At the rear, a reflective strip runs the full width of the three pockets, which expand at the bottom a bit more than normal thanks to some creative seam work. An elasticized gripper on the lower back hem keeps things in place.
