Renthal has launched a zero rise version of its popular Fatbar Lite and Fatbar Lite Carbon handlebars, the Renthal Fatbar Lite Carbon Zero Rise and Renthal Fatbar Lite Zero Rise.
The British brand claims the new handlebars have struck the perfect balance for both XC and trail riders. The 780mm width gives trail riders all the leverage they need, while XC riders or those who prefer a narrower cockpit have the option to cut them down.

In order to keep the rider’s hands in the same location as other Renthal handlebars, the new Zero Rise bars come with a 9-degree sweep (as opposed to 7 degrees on its riser models). This means they should, in theory, have a similar ride feel to other Fatbars.
Renthal claims to have matched the ride characteristics of its Fatbar Lite and Fatbar Lite Carbon handlebars with the new zero rise option. This should make for a stiff but comfortable feel from the lightweight bars.
Speaking of lightweight, Renthal claims the bars are market-leading, with the aluminium version weighing a claimed 270g with the carbon version at 190g. We weighed them for ourselves, and actually found that they came up even lighter. The aluminium bar weighed 266g, while the carbon bar weighed 188g.
As always, the aluminium bars are available with two finishes — black and gold — which ties in nicely with Renthal’s stem options.
