Specialized are to help fund the UK's pothole reporting service, Fill That Hole. Run by national cyclists’ organisation CTC, the service has to date informed local councils of over 56,000 hazards. However, it costs the CTC money every time they process a report.

The American bike company, in conjunction with their UK Concept Stores, have now agreed to sponsor the reporting of 6,000 potholes, earning them a place in the ‘CTC Pothole Hall of Fame.’

CTC commercial director Nick Fish said: "Specialized are ahead of the pack in supporting this free service for cyclists and the game is now on to find other organisations to support and promote Fill That Hole and make the roads safer for all."

The CTC's Fill That Hole iPhone app, which allows cyclists to photograph potholes and upload them straight to the site, has been downloaded by 6,000 people since October.
