Not content with metaphorically ripping each others' legs off on the road, Team Sky and Orica GreenEdge have taken their competition to the next level – with a game of rock, paper, scissors.
The face-off occurred at the Tour Down Under in January, when the two teams took each other on for the first of a five-episode series of battles that will be shown on Team Sky's YouTube channel.
Nick Howes, Team Sky's digital manager, said: “The goal of the Battle Series was to show another side to our team away from the racing. Our fans don’t often get to see that side to us because once the races start everyone is so professional. There are some big characters in Team Sky – both riders and staff members – and that really comes through in the battles."
