Trek opened their first UK store today, inside the Costwold Outdoor Explore More store in Milton Keynes. The 3,700sq ft shop is being run by Gary Bird, owner of the independent East Street Cycles chain, which has outlets in Walton-on-Thames, Farnham and Richmond upon Thames.

The store, which is close to the town's train station, will stock products from Trek and in-house brand Bontrager – everything from state-of-the-art road and mountain bikes to kids' models – as well as offering service and repair, Trek Fit Services, and a Project One design centre, where riders can customise their Trek Madone 6 or Speed Concept 9 bike with paintjobs and finishing kit.

“Milton Keynes is an ideal location for a Trek store,” said Bird. “With miles of redways, quiet lanes for road riding and local trails nearby for mountain bikes, there’s a bit of everything. The city has fantastic demographic diversity, great people and a promising future. Trek are a marquee brand who consistently produce market-leading product. It was a perfect combination for a new store.”

Nigel Roberts, general manager of Trek UK, said: “We're very excited to be working with Gary on this project. We've had success with Trek stores in the US and other markets around the world, and we believe this is the right place to introduce this programme into the UK.” For more information, visit Trek Milton Keynes' Facebook page.
