Vee Tire Co. is one of the brands leading the charge when it comes to new tyre sizes. For 2017, the company is expanding its Crown Gem line with multiple plus-sized variants and introducing a higher volume road tyre, the Apache Chief.

The Crown Gem - BikeRadar

The Crown Gem is an all-purpose mountain bike tyre designed specially for today’s wider rims. The tread pattern has fast-rolling center tread and plenty of transition and side knobs to aid in cornering.

The Crown Gem uses Vee’s Synthesis woven sidewall protection to reduce the risk of sidewall tears. If you’re keen on the skinwall trend, then you’ll be glad to know the Crown Gem is available in a skinwall version.

In addition to 27.5x4 and 29x3.5in sizes, riders can choose from not one but three “plus” variants of this tyre. Vee offers the Crown Gem in 27.5x2.6, 27.5x2.8 and a full 27.5x3.0in version to cater to rider preferences.

The Apache Chief - BikeRadar

On the road side of things, Vee is launching the Apache Chief. This new 700c tyre has a folding bead and a 120tpi casing. It’s available in 23, 25, 28 and 30mm widths.
