Putting the mountain into all-mountain

Chris Ford from mountain bike skills and guiding company CycleActive will be back soon with more of his technique Q&As, so if there are any areas of your riding you need help with, let us know and we'll forward your queries on to him.

In the meantime, here's a clip of two of his staff, Rich Barnard and Jon Chalmers, taking on a new descent from the summit of Skiddaw in the Lake District, one of the highest peaks in England.

Chris says: "After riding to the top they switched on the cameras and rode straight down – no retakes, no clever angles and almost no stopping... [The footage] highlights why these are two of the most highly sought after mountain bike skills coaches in the UK.

"Just look at the speed and flow as they hit rocks, drops and switchbacks that they've never seen before, without breaking stride... and remember this is after riding 950 vertical metres of uphill first. Truly impressive mountain biking."
