Voodoo is a long-established name in off-road cycling, originating in California and more recently settling in the UK, where the brand’s bikes are available through Halfords stores.
For 2022, Voodoo is completely overhauling its range of hardtail mountain, gravel, urban commuter and kids’ bikes. The just-launched Bizango is a value-for-money mountain bike that punches above its weight – and, as the brand’s top model, it sets a precedent for the entire range.
While Voodoo has had its ups and downs over its several decades of existence, at Halfords it has settled into a niche as an off-road brand providing dependable bikes for everyday riders at almost unbeatable pricing.
The latest range is up to date in components and geometry – Voodoo doesn’t push boundaries, but pretty much anyone could enjoy riding one of its bikes.
Voodoo 2022 mountain bikes
With its roots firmly grounded in mountain biking, it is no surprise that Voodoo’s catalogue weighs heavily towards trail riding. The brand has sold full-suspension and even ebikes in the past, but for 2022 it's sticking to hardtails only.
From £550 to £925, Voodoo’s MTBs all offer solid builds for relatively little money. Interestingly, every bike in the range has a 66.5-degree head angle and around 460mm reach (size large), and they are all kitted out with comparable products (wide handlebar, 120 or 130mm suspension fork, etc.).
Voodoo says its mountain bikes are stable and confidence-inspiring, agile in technical terrain, but still good fun on easier trail centre rides. As they succinctly put it, ita MTBs will appeal to a broad range of people.
Voodoo Bragg
The entry-level Bragg looks good and should ride well, too – it has geometry identical to the range-topping Bizango.
Four sizes, wide 780mm handlebars (except the size small, which has a 760mm bar), medium-length cranks and a reasonably slack head angle make it ready to hit the trail centre.
- Frame: Triple-butted aluminium with 141mm Boost QR rear axle
- Fork: 120mm Suntour XCM32 – lockout, preload and rebound adjustment – 15×100mm thru-axle

Voodoo Soukri
The Soukri is Voodoo’s women-specific hardtail mountain bike, with smaller frame sizes and a wider saddle.
Apart from narrower handlebars (740 t 760mm) and shorter cranks on the smallest of three sizes, its components are otherwise the same as the Bragg’s.
- Frame: Triple-butted aluminium with 141mm Boost QR rear axle
- Fork: 120mm Suntour XCM32 LOR – lockout & rebound adjustment – 15×100mm thru-axle

Voodoo Wazoo
While most of the Voodoo mountain bike range is very similar in angles, components and wheel size, the Wazoo stands out as the only bike rolling on 27.5in wheels.
Bigger 2.6in tyres (all the other MTBs come with 2.25in tyres) and 130mm fork travel make this an altogether burlier build. Its geometry numbers mostly mirror the 29ers, bar a slightly shorter reach and less bottom bracket drop.
- Frame: Triple-butted aluminium with 141mm Boost QR rear axle
- Fork: 130mm Suntour XCM34 – lockout, preload and rebound adjustment – 15×110mm thru-axle
- Gearing: Shimano Alivio 2×9 - 11-36t cassette and 36×22t Shimano Altus chainset

Voodoo Horde
For those interested in the Bizango but on a smaller budget, the Horde offers equal geometry numbers.
A slightly lower-spec fork and brakes bring the price under £700, but the bike still has tubeless-compatible rims, 29in wheels and is available in four sizes.
- Frame: Triple-butted aluminium with 141mm Boost QR rear axle
- Fork: 120mm Suntour XCR32 LOR Air Spring – 15×110mm thru-axle
- Gearing: Shimano Deore M4100 1×10 – 11-46 cassette, 32t chainset

Voodoo Bizango
Voodoo’s top-flight hardtail mountain bike, the Bizango, wowed us with its value and ride character when we reviewed the 2018 version.

Voodoo Bizango Pro
At the top of the mountain bike range, the Bizango Pro still comes in well under £1k. Despite the low price, its components package makes it ready to hit any terrain – this is a proper hardcore hardtail.
A slightly longer travel suspension fork, beefier tyres and upgraded brakes set this apart from the standard Bizango.

Voodoo 2022 gravel bikes
Taking inspiration from its mountain bike range, Voodoo says its gravel bikes are designed to offer a fast, fun and controlled ride on a range of surfaces.
Voodoo achieves this through relatively slack head angles, low bottom bracket heights, and long top tubes with short stems.
Plenty of rack and mudguard mounts and fast-rolling tyres make these bikes ideal for commuting or forays into the countryside. The bikes certainly look the part.
And, as with any Voodoo, they come with a unique bike number that can be used for exclusive deals and other benefits.
Voodoo Limba
The entry-level Limba rolls on 700c wheels and WTB Riddler tyres. Its triple-butted aluminium frame and steel fork feature mudguard and luggage mounts.

- Frame: Triple-butted aluminium with gravel-specific geometry and mudguard and rack mounts
- Fork: High-tensile steel with mudguard mounts

Voodoo Nakisi

The geometry is more or less the same as the Limba, although the Nakisi has a slightly longer head tube and 1mm longer reach across its three sizes.
- Frame: Triple-butted aluminium with gravel-specific geometry and mudguard and rack mounts
- Fork: Aluminium with mudguard mounts
- Gearing: Shimano Sora 2×9, 11-34 cassette with 48×32t Prowheel chainset

Voodoo 2022 hybrid bikes
Voodoo Marasa
Again taking inspiration from its mountain biking heritage, Voodoo applies the long-low-slack design ethos to its new commuter bike.
Reasonably wide 38mm Maxxis tyres, Clarks Hydraulic disc brakes and a flat handlebar make the Marasa a commuter ideal for people looking for something comfortable and stable to move around the urban landscape.
The Marasa is available in two guises: standard and a women’s model. Both options cost the same, and the components are pretty much identical, with just the saddle width changing to a WTB Volt Wide on the women’s model.
Otherwise, the Marasa Men’s and Women’s bikes are defined by paint colour and size, with the Men’s available in 18in and 20in sizes and the Women’s in 16in and 18in.

Voodoo 2022 kids’ hardtails
Voodoo includes three well-thought-out kids’ bikes in its new range. These cover three wheel sizes (with one frame size per bike) and cater for riders of six to 12 years.
All three of the bikes come with disc brakes and wide tyres for reliability, safety and comfort. Single-chainring drivetrains ensure simple gear shifting.
Suspension forks up front ensure the bikes are ready to rip around singletrack and a range of off-road terrain.
Voodoo Sobo
For the younger riders, the Sobo has a 40mm travel suspension fork – enough to take out the worst bumps. Specific brake levers for small hands are a neat touch.
20in – age range 6–9 years
- Frame: Lightweight alloy frame with junior-specific MTB geometry
- Fork: Suntour XCT Junior – 40mm travel with preload adjustment
- Gearing: Shimano Altus / Tourney 1×8 – 32t chainset with 11-34 cassette

- Price: £350
Voodoo Nantai
Moving up to 24in wheels, the Nantai is aimed at the eight to 11 age range. It has more suspension travel than the Sobo and nine gears.
The butted alloy frame should handle the extra weight and forces on the bike as the child grows and progresses.

- Frame: Lightweight butted alloy frame with junior-specific MTB geometry
- Fork: Suntour XCR LO – 80mm travel with lockout and preload adjustment, lightweight magnesium lowers

Voodoo Nzumbi
Finally, the Nzumbi gets 26in wheels and the same 120mm fork travel as Voodoo’s adult mountain bikes.
Likewise, Clarks Hydraulic disc brakes are a step up from the mechanical disc brakes featured on the Nantai and Sobo.
