The Evoc FR Trail Women’s pack is bursting with ride-inspired features. It has 20 litres of cleverly planned storage to make sure that there's a place for everything an all-day rider could want: easy-access tool section, OS-sized map pocket, soft-lined glasses pouch, helmet carry system and stow-away armour straps.
Although it’s a big pack, the female-friendly shoulder straps mean it sits comfortably against your body and a broad velcro hip belt keeps the bag snug even on the roughest terrain. But if you hit steeper terrain when the pack is only partially full, it does have a tendency to interfere with your helmet.
The FR Trail has an integrated back protector too. At just 132g, it’s barely noticeable and can be unzipped from the pack and worn separately. We wouldn’t use it as a replacement for a standard back protection, but if you’re caught out short it’s a relatively comfortable bit of additional padding.
It doesn't come with a bladder, which is a shame. At this price, we feel it should.
Made to endure trail tribulations, the rip-stop nylon outer is abrasion-resistant and PU coated, making it water repellent – it’s survived bouts of heavy rain (without the rain cover on) and the water beaded, keeping the contents inside surprisingly dry. The additional stow-away rain cover proved handy in monsoon-like rain and kept the contents protected from the elements
