The Ortlieb Velocity Yellow backpack, with its bright design and extra-large reflective patch, shares the same straightforward design as the more expensive High-Viz Velocity, which is free of external encumbrances and pockets.
It’s pretty much the same story inside, where there is just a small zipped pocket that attaches with poppers. This means you’ll have to pack a laptop carefully to keep it from moving in this impressively large bag.
The plus side to the design is great waterproofing from the rolltop closure, which is secured by super-strong Velcro.
The top strip is visible when you look behind, though you get used to this pretty quickly. And you can feel the brackets for the waist strap when you’re off the bike.
