Superbly thought-out, use-everywhere backpack

Bigger than most riding packs, Osprey's 30l Escapist could easily be your only backpack for on- and off-bike use. It’s available in two back lengths and has a vented back panel, height adjustable shoulder straps and load straps for pulling it close to your body.

There are three main pockets – one for a bladder, a main compartment with a zipped divider and additional bottom opening, and an external pocket with organiser pouches – plus a plethora of smaller ones. Thanks to a great layout you can ram it full or run it half empty and it remains equally comfortable and secure. Other features include Osprey’s brilliant helmet toggle, a sliding sternum strap system with built-in whistle, a waterproof cover and compression straps. About the only things missing are a laptop compartment and a bladder.
