Innovative utility pannier but requires refinement

These lockable bins are a smart alternative to traditional soft panniers for commuting and utility duties. Klick-Fix fittings mean they're on and off the bike in seconds and seem very secure with most diameters of rack. Rubberised carry handles and a detachable canvas shoulder strap make for easy and comfortable carrying off the bike.

Build quality is generally good: the 2.5mm thick polypropylene construction seems robust - a polyethylene model is available for no additional cost should you ride in temperatures below -5 degrees - and the pull-down clasps hold the top flat bed tightly closed, although the integral lock lacks refinement.

I have been impressed by how good they are at repelling water - the contents have remained dry despite persistent downpours. Clothes, too, transport better than in traditional soft panniers but they cannot be manipulated to accept unusual items so readily, and the bins tendency to vibrate over uneven surfaces, making them unsuitable for transporting laptops and other sensitive/delicate equipment.
