Our review
A touch pricey, but comfort and stability is impressive and the flexible back protection adds peace of mind

The Blackline is EVOC’s high-performance, high-end hydration pack and boasts additional details compared to its standard FR Enduro bag, in an attempt to create the ultimate trail riding and enduro racing pack.

You don’t get a bladder included – something that’s worth factoring into your budget if you’re looking to buy this pack. What you do get is a removable – and featherweight – back protector and 14l (for the small pack tested here – medium/large is 16l, extra large is 18l) of storage, with a home for all the essentials.

The front pocket has mesh dividers for organising tools and a smaller zipped pocket for easy-reach items, while the cavernous main pocket will easily take a jacket, spare kit, pump and tubes. There’s a separate pouch for a bladder, a handy zipped pocket on the wide, comfortable hip strap, and a stash cradle and stowable helmet straps on the front.

Even when only half full, we found the Blackline did an impressive job of staying put when we were riding rough trails. The flexible back protector goes largely unnoticed when riding but does add peace of mind. The additional cutaways on the back panel do help to encourage airflow but you still get pretty warm due to the thick waist strap.
