Exposure's Axis Mk2 provides up to 850 lumens for added depth perception and point-where-you’re-looking lighting. There are cheaper lights, but the CNCed shell suggests an impressively put together unit,and at 99g it feels solid.
Exposure’s developed a system that enables you to effectively customise what three powers of light you cycle through, with burn times ranging from 1.5 hours to 24. This can be done via the button on the back, or through the TAP system. You can tap the light to switch between settings, which is ideal when wearing gloves. Sensitivity can be adjusted, and out on the trail it works very well.
The beam pattern isn’t ideal as a standalone light, because the beam is reasonably focused, but it works well as a secondary light for picking out trail details.
The helmet mount is simple and effective, clamping through the vents of your lid with two opposing circular clamps. The ball and socket arrangement up top makes aiming easy yet secure. A handlebar mount is included, as is a lanyard for extra security.
