Lumicycle has been producing brilliantly practical and bombproof lights in the UK for years.
The three-LED Summit head unit (previously know as the 3XPG) is relatively focused but natural bar movement offsets that and there’s always plenty of light and reach on the trail.
The foolproof toggle switch lets you flick back and forwards in the menu and the three-minute on, auto off ‘boost’ setting is great for descents.
There’s a battery/power LED and a ‘peak’ to stop upward glare. Run times are impressive from the small, easily fitted battery bag, there’s an extra lead for a second head, and all Lumi lamps and batteries are compatible for easy upgrading.
The mount is 35mm bar compatible and reliability is legendary, but the Lumicycle Explorer has double the power for only a small extra expense, so really, that one is more tempting.
