Our review
Well made, well cut, good looking and the right level of weatherproofing for our test team

The first ladies’ kit from Le Col is in line with the high quality and performance fit of their men’s gear.

The emphasis with both the jacket (£234.99) and bib tights (£149.99) is on warmth. Both have Aqua Zero Roubaix waterproof panels but aren’t fully waterproof; however, we found them perfect for most UK winter days.

Windproof panels on the jacket arms, and thumb loops on the cuffs, keep you cosy. In milder autumn weather we wore the jacket with no base and the beautifully soft, fleecy fabric was perfect next to the skin and just warm and breathable enough.

Fit is slightly more forgiving in the tights than the jacket, but both are cut really well for the female form and solidly put together. The generous gel pad in the tights was great for long rides, offering protection without being intrusive.

Our only tweak to the tights would be zippers at the ankle, as we found them a bit of a fight to get on and off. The simple, sleek, high-visibility looks and quality cut will keep both items at the top of our winter kit pile.
