Ultra comfy crosscountry helmet with plenty of ventilation

Bell's Sweep XC helmet is aimed at the performance end of the cross-country market, with a low profile and a reasonably light weight (our medium size hit the scales at 305g).

But it's in terms of comfort that the Sweep XC really scores. Bell's well proven Gear Positioned System (GPS) takes care of fit, with a plastic strap arrangement cradling the back of your head to hold the helmet in place without any pressure points. Adjustment is ultra simple, even when you're riding, with one-handed turning of a dial - it could hardly be easier.

Channelled vents guide plenty of air inside to keep your head cool no matter how hard you're working, and you can adjust the angle of the visor (just a little) to keep the sun or the rain out of your eyes.

We're big fans of the understated styling of the black/charcoal version shown here, although you might prefer the similarly classy silver/ titanium option. The £90 price tag is reasonable given that this is a high end helmet.

As you'd expect, the Sweep XC passes all the usual helmet safety standards.
