The Golden Eye offers protection and ventilation in spades

Launched at this year’s Eurobike, the Golden Eye is an enduro specific lid from French protection brand Bluegrass.

The back end of the lid is dropped low to maximise skull coverage, and there’s a sizable visor that has a decent range of adjustment, so you can get its position just right.

Despite giving plenty of coverage, there’s loads of ventilation on offer too, making the Golden Eye one of the coolest helmets we've tried recently. The visor helps channel air through the shell, where deep internal channels allow plenty of airflow.

The straps’ webbing has an open central strip to help keep them cool, and the gel padding helps divert sweat away from the eyes.

Bluegrass have included a goggle strap clip on the rear of the helmet too, along with the appropriate sized hole for an integrated POV camera mount, which is handy.

The Golden Eye offered great ventilation and kept us cool even on longer rides
