Fox’s Enduro Pro Knee Guards are possibly the most comfortable knee pads I’ve ever worn.
Thanks to the smooth sleeve and the protective knee insert, which can move (slightly) over the top of it when pedalling, it’s easy to forget you’re wearing these pads as you make your way around the trail.
There are no straps to worry about and no issues with them slipping down your legs, thanks to an excellent fit.
Pricing is competitive, too, at £90 / $130 / €100.
However, unlike my previous go-to option, the Rapha Trail Knee Pads, the Enduro Pro pads are slimmer, therefore meeting the CE Level 1 safety standard, rather than the Level 2 of the Raphas.

Fox Enduro Pro Knee Guards specification

Taking care of protection inside the Enduro Pro Knee Guards is a removable Koroyd insert that remains flexible up until impact, where it hardens and helps to absorb the impact force.
A smart touch with these knee pads is that Fox has housed the protective insert inside its own outer sleeve, which is then fixed to the larger sleeve that slides over your leg.
Designing the pads in this way helps create a little bit of movement between the inner and outer sleeves, enabling the protective insert to ‘float’ over the sleeve that sits directly over your leg.
This small amount of movement between the two improves articulation, so when you pedal, one sleeve can slide over the other, which should translate into freer and easier movement.
On the outside of the knee guards, you’ll find abrasion-resistant Cordura fabric to help ward off scrapes and scratches.
There’s plenty of silicone print around the deep, upper band that sits high on your thigh, there in a bid to keep the pads sitting securely on your legs.
The lower opening of the pads isn’t as tightly elasticated and doesn’t feature any silicone print.
Fox Enduro Pro Knee Guards performance

Slip the Enduro Pro pads on and it becomes apparent very quickly how long the main sleeve is.
The upper of the guards sits nearly halfway up your thigh, while the bottom of the sleeve runs all the way down to about the halfway point of your lower leg.
Keeping them in place is the stretch and compression from the sleeve itself, but also the elastic at the top and bottom of each opening.
Despite the upper elastic being rather tight, at nearly 80mm deep, tension from this band is spread out nicely around the thigh. That means they stay put without feeling overly restrictive or tight.
The lower opening isn’t as tight, so doesn’t feel restrictive or tight around your calf muscle.
Fox has pre-shaped the Koroyd knee insert, enabling it to wrap around the front and sides of the knee nicely. There’s no protection right on the sides of the knee, though, but the insert extends to cover the upper third of your shin.
Get pedalling and the Enduro Pros feel incredibly comfortable. Even with your knee fully flexed, you can’t feel the protective insert snagging or dragging across your knee or inside the sleeve.
Instead, movement feels beautifully fluid and smooth. It’s easy to forget you’ve even got these pads on.
To achieve that super-secure fit, Fox has used stronger, thicker panels on the main sleeve, which means these aren’t as breathable as some pads, but it’s a small price to pay for the comfort on offer.
When drenched in sweat, the Enduro Pros remain steadfast and secure, and at no point during months of riding have I needed to readjust them.
The protection on offer is decent, and these pads will handle spills and knocks without issue.
They’re easily as comfortable as the Rapha Trail pads, if not more so, which is saying something.
The thinner insert of the Enduro Pros means that, on paper at least, they’re not as protective as Rapha's pads, which meet the CE Level 2 standard.
In use, that equates to a thicker insert in the Raphas compared to the Fox pads. This may provide a little extra peace of mind for some.
If you’re looking for maximum comfort, decent protection and a superb fit for trail and enduro-style riding, at a competitive price, I’d certainly check out the Fox Enduro Pro Knee Guards. They’re some of the best knee pads on the market.
Fox Enduro Pro Knee Guards bottom line

These are superbly comfortable knee guards that not only fit really well but stay put while hammering out lap after lap on the trails.
They may not be as protective as some, but they fit so well you’ll likely wear them more than you might bulkier alternatives.
I wear these frequently now and, even after multiple cycles in the washing machine, they’re still holding up incredibly well thanks to the impressive build quality.
If you’re in the market for some trail-friendly, all-day knee pads, these should be right up there at the top of your list.
