Our review
Light, comfy pads for trail riding, though the padding could be held in place more securely

Pros:

Lightweight and comfy on the trail, articulate well when pedalling

Cons:

Padding needs to be held tighter over the knee, colour/styling won't appeal to all

Scott’s side-specific Mission knee pads are some of the lightest I’ve tried and they’re comfy too. That’s partly down to the stretchy mesh sleeve, which hugs your leg and does a good job of ensuring things don’t get too hot while you’re pedalling.

The EVA padding articulates reasonably well and offers a decent amount of coverage over and around the knee cap, though nothing close to that of Scott’s bulkier Grenade EVO pads. That means the Missions will provide a bit of useful protection on trail rides but it’s worth looking elsewhere if you ride more extreme tracks.

The top and bottom openings rely on stretch rather than a strap but are coated with silicone print to help hold the pads in place. While the cuffs are relatively tight, they’re far from uncomfortable, and I had no issues with the Missions falling down.

It’s worth looking elsewhere if you ride more extreme tracks

That said, the stretchy sleeve doesn’t hold the padding as securely in place as I’d like across the knee. This means it can move around, leaving the sides of the knee exposed on occasion (though the front remains protected).

While I can’t knock their comfort, not everyone was a fan of the styling.
