Lazer have packed a decent number of features into the Ultrax, yet it's only a penny shy of £70.
The retention system is different to a lot of other helmets, in that there's no circumference adjustment – it automatically adjusts to the size of your head. We found the pressure from the cradle to be just on the right side of tight, leaving the helmet feeling very secure. The cradle is height adjustable too.
Lazer have also equipped the Ultrax with an adjustable visor and an integrated rear light, which is handy for riding home from work in the evening or getting home from trails after a night ride. We've yet to run the battery down on it, but it's USB chargeable when you do.
The Ultrax's ventilation is on a par with many of other lids of its style. One niggle was that we found the straps rubbed a little on the front of our ears – there's a bit less space there than on some other helmets.
