B'Twin's Aerofit 900 jacket is amazing value for money if you’re looking for warmth on a budget. Constructed entirely of brush fleece-lined softshell, there’s nowhere for chilly winds to get in – though no added venting either.
- Highs : Price, warmth, versatility, practicality
- Lows : Balaclava zip limits usefulness
It comes with a zip-in waistcoat, made of stretchy Roubaix-like fabric, which incorporates a balaclava, and zips together at the front, adding an extra insulating layer to the chest, and giving unbeatable neck and skull protection with no annoying gaps. The downside is you’ll have a zip against your chin, lip or nose, but it can be rolled down for extra neck protection too.
There’s a wide elastic gripper, three drop pockets plus a zipped media pocket that accept a fair amount of gear, plus two huge reflective shoulder and neck panels for visibility. Sizing is snug and race cut, it’s stylish and very well finished.
