Howies TRYG Point Soft Shell review

Small enough to stash in your pack, the Tryg Point jacket is a soft shell made from Schoeller 3XDRY nylon. It's waterproof, it dries remarkably quickly on the trail and it's impressively breathable, transferring heat and sweat away fast so it stayed on all ride, even when it got a bit warmer. The cut is slim and there's reflective detailing on the front and back for better visability during night riding.

Expensive but a great performing, comfy and great looking jacket with an excellent cut

The dropped back, which is elasticated and adjustable, keeps your arse dry, the collar is comfortably fleece-lined and the cuffs are adjustable, although the rubber adjuster might annoy some people because it's just that bit too big. We really like the zippered air vents because they sit below and back from the straps of a backpack. They're not as big as under-arm vents but they're a damn sight comfier than riding with a rigid zip sticking in yer armpit!

At £125, this jacket is at the top end of the scale but, all things considered, it will make a great trail companion any time of the year. >
