Good looks and performance fabric combined in this cool riding top

Maloja’s short-sleeved Roadrunner jersey is made from Fieldsensor, a polyester microfibre which has been around for years and has excellent moisture management properties.

Despite the substantial feel, it’s remarkably cool but does tend to hang onto odours after a few months’ use.

Casual T-shirt appeal is blended with retro-inspired colours on this top and the cut accommodates both easy cruises and full-on fast days.

Sleeves are on the dainty side, though, so if you’re bulging of bicep then you might find them a squeeze.

The 11in zip is spot on for ventilation without exposure and we appreciated the resilience of the fabric when hacking through overgrown singletrack.

The rear pocket proved problematic, though; it’s quite high on the back so the zip closure interferes with larger backpacks.

On a short ride we suffered a small amount of chafing, so check fit carefully before buying.
