Plenty of features, sun protection and a race cut, all at a competitive price

Australian summers can be brutal and many jerseys fail to provide suitable sun protection. The Netti Refined jersey is Aussie designed for use in bright sun and features UPF 50+ sun protection.

The Refined jersey is part of Netti’s Elite series and features a performance orientated fit with a basic single tone design. The cut is slim and best suited to a more athletic build – the snug elastic cuffs at the biceps may pose an issue for more muscular riders.

The netti refined jersey is a snug, performance fit, but it's not skin tight: David Rome / Future Publishing

The fit is snug, but not skintight. The single-tone colour is inoffensive. The jersey is available in white, black or red

Made with a soft feeling, Italian anti-bacterial fabric, there’s an essence of quality in this jersey. The full-length zipper is a common feature, but one that's always appreciated on the hottest of days. At the back you'll find three deep pockets and a fourth moisture proof, smartphone-sized zippered pocket with headphone port. The shoulders, front and rear all feature hi-vis pipping to keep you visibile in low light.

When we pulling on the jersey from new, we heard some ripping sounds coming from the rubber grippers at the base of the jersey. Although the noises were disconcerting, we found no sign of tearing or stress to the fabric and it proved durable throughout testing.

One niggle – the zipper would bulge and fold rather than sit flat and straight. This made for an awkward look depending on how we were placed on the bike.

It’s not the lightest or most breathable jersey we’ve tested, but the Refined offers a healthy combination of comfort, sun protection and value for money.
