PearlIzumi MicroSensor Thermal Longsleeve review

A showerproof long-sleeved jersey that should provide years of sterling service

Pearl Izumi have been at the forefront of making top quality kit for a long time. A couple of years ago it seemed as though their range had not moved on, as if it had stagnated and there was nothing new to be had.

A lot of people still think that, mainly because Pearl Izumi haven't reinvented themselves every other year. But why bother changing a whole bunch of clothing items that already work better than most others just for the sake of it? Yes, this MicroSensor jersey is good - very good.

It is warm, yet not overly so, is also showerproof as an added bonus, has reflective patches and piping in all the right places, and fits like a wonderful cold weather jersey should fit - close but non-restrictive.

Three main cargo pockets and a smaller zipped pocket at the rear offer plenty of room for carrying stuff. The zipped pocket would be nice if fully waterproofed but that really is the only thing to even slightly moan about on such a fantastic bit of kit.
