The Royal Argyle is absolute proof that sometimes you need to try stuff on to know anything about apparel.
It didn’t have much hanger appeal for us, but when we got it on the fit was great, with the long sleeves moving well in wear and being more comfortable than some short-sleeve models.
The raglan sleeves give a good range of movement without making the jersey’s presence across the shoulders felt, and mesh inserts here and under the arms help to keep you cool in warm weather or under exertion. There’s also a small zipped pocket in the side seam.
Our only beef with the Argyle is that the fabric is quite firm and, although that adds durability, we’d prefer something more supple.
